European Band Organ Figures

Carved wood and hand painted figures were a part of many European fairground organ facades. These were generally done by very skilled carvers, such as Ferdinand and Ivo Demetz of Austria, Joseph Dopp of Waldkirch Germany (black forest) and various others.

They represent some of the very best facade wood carving and most are permanently surviving on the remaining fair organ instruments. Therefore, today it is very difficult to purchase even one of these figures without buying the entire organ for which they were carved!

This collection has been assembled, piece by piece, over many decades and we doubt it could be done again today---at any price...

To our knowledge this is the largest group of such figures available anywhere in the world. It will make a wonderful addition to the finest museum or private collection! They range in size from life size to the normal 24-36" tall figures, and include many only know examples, signed figures, and facade/bioscope carvings from by gone days.
